We are Dustin and Mat, and we created instacard.ai and Burl! Despite our differing paths, we've stayed friends for over 30 years. Dustin ascended Amazon Music's corporate ranks in San Francisco and Mat evolved from a dotcom employee to an entrepreneur in Southeast Asia. Our 30-year friendship has been the cradle for a shared passion: blending creativity with technology. From our junior high days immersed in Dungeons & Dragons and Sega Genesis, to our time at UC Berkeley where we swapped sci-fi recommendations while at our Shakespeare lecture, our bond has always centered around imaginative exploration.

Our latest venture, instacard.ai, was born from this same spirit. Witnessing the advent of Generative AI, we both recognized its potential to unlock unprecedented levels of creativity. We chose greeting cards as our starting point - a perfect blend of fun, personal expression, and innovative AI. But this is just the beginning. Our vision extends far beyond, aiming to explore and expand the playful potential of AI in ways that haven't yet been seen.
